Bee Birthday Bash

My daughter decided on a Bumble Bee Party for her 7th birthday this year.  She was so excited about all of the goodies that I made.  She helped with a lot of them and the party was a great success.
I made some little bumble bee and bee hive cookies for the party.
My daughter helped me make the marshmellow pops.  It was a lot
of fun working together on them.  Here is how we did it:

1.  We placed them onto the Wilton sticks.
2.  We then dipped them into Wilton candy melts that we had colored light yellow.
3.  Then we sprinkled on yellow sugar.
4.  Once they set up, we just placed them into a Wilton treat bag and tied it with yellow curling ribbon.

So easy, so tasty and oh so cute!

Here is a closer look at the little bumble bee sugar cookies.
I had so much fun making them.  This was only my second time
making sugar cookies.  I got some really great recipes and instructions
online.  With the new KitchenAid Mixer I got for my birthday (thanks MOM),
I was off and running making fun sugar cookies.

Here is a photo of the beehive cake I made.  It was really easy
with the instructions I found online.  I did it in 3 layers.  The bottom
was made using a 10" round cake pan, the middle using an 8" round
cake pan, and the top using a small pyrex bowl.  I read online that it
is easier to frost the cake by melting the frosting and pouring it over the
cake.  I did it this way and it was so easy.  Just an FYI - put some frosting
between the layers first, so that the melted frosting can catch on it when poured.
I also used the whipped frosting (2 cans) and once melted in the microwave I added
the yellow coloring.  It was easy to mix and pour this way.

My mom MADE this super cute bumble bee piñata for the party!
All by hand.  It came out so wonderfully, that I wished we didn't have
to destroy it and it could hang in my daughters room.  Oh well, at least
we have pictures to remember.

Here is a view of the back side.  She even added the stinger.  I have
a very creative mom that I love very much!

It was one of the funnest parties to prepare for.
My youngest daughter is having a little Piggie party in a couple months,
so I'll be sure to post some images from that party as well.  :-)
